New Providence, New Jersey
NEW PROVIDENCE, NEW JERSEY: Rich in history and incorporated in 1899, New Providence dates back to Colonial days when it was known as Turkey Town. Today, within its three square mile border, New Providence is a gracious tree-lined community which still cherishes the emblem of a worthy past. Located next to Summit, New Providence has access to this larger city’s many facilities. Downtown New Providence offers a variety of shopping and several malls are within ten minutes of this serene community. Murray Hill, an upscale section of New Providence borders both Summit and Berkeley Heights. Known for the excellence of its school system, municipal tax structure and town services, residents continually move-up or downsize from one home to another without leaving city limits. Newark Liberty International Airport is a twenty-minute drive away. Two train lines funnel into New Providence: Midtown Direct moving directly into Penn Station located in Midtown Manhattan and New Jersey Transit’s original line which carries passengers into Hoboken where PATH trains connect to lower Manhattan and Wall Street. Direct access to Routes 24, I-78, I-287, I-280 connect New Providence to the major metropolitan network.
